TESOL-Ukraine Association is governed by an elected Executive Committee. The Executive Committee includes the President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary & Newsletter Editor, National Coordinator, International Coordinator, and Media Coordinator.
The Executive Committee meets in person at Leadership Meetings to discuss the association’s activities, budget, coordinate the work with the TESOL-Ukraine leaders nationwide, and make common decisions aimed at the association’s further progress.
Executive Committee

Olena Ilienko, TESOL-Ukraine President
Doctor of Science in Education, Head of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation at O.M. Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv. With over 30 years of experience in linguistics and education, she has served as TESOL-Ukraine President and National Coordinator. Olena has led impactful projects like the Erasmus+ MultiEd, and organized TESOL-Ukraine Annual National Conventions as well as Summer and Winter Institutes. A frequent presenter at international TESOL conferences, including TESOL 2023 and 2024, she is dedicated to advancing English language education in Ukraine.
Hanna Podosynnikova, TESOL-Ukraine Vice-President
Ph.D. in Education, Head of the Department of English Philology and Linguodidactics at Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko. She also leads the Inter-University Research Laboratory of Modern Technologies of Teaching Foreign Languages. She has driven projects like the RELO-supported Pre-Service English Teacher Methodology Program and the MOSAIC Project, and various Storytelling contests.

Liliia Kuznetsova, TESOL-Ukraine Treasurer
Ph.D. in Linguistics, Associate Professor at Lviv Ivan Franko National University, where she teaches ESP. She’s a TESOL-Ukraine member since 1995, and Treasurer since 2017. She managed international projects like the Erasmus+ MultiEd and the ‘Snow Drops’ ecological project. As a member of EULETA, she is committed to transparent financial management and supporting TESOL-Ukraine’s educational initiatives.

Oksana Chugai, TESOL-Ukraine Newsletter Editor
Ph.D. in Education, Associate Professor at the National Technical University of Ukraine ‘Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute,’ a TESOL-Ukraine member. She has participated in international programs like Erasmus+ MultiEd, NAWA Ukraine, and RELO’s ‘Teaching in a Time of Crisis.’ She presented at TESOL 2023, and has participated in teacher development initiatives in Poland, Hungary, and Estonia. She is dedicated to enhancing communication and collaboration for TESOL-Ukraine.
Serhii Petrenko, TESOL-Ukraine International Coordinator
Ph.D. in Linguistics, Associate Professor at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Cambridge Delta. With extensive experience teaching EAP, ESP, and EMI, he fosters 21st-century skills like critical thinking and collaboration. Serhii has also taught at the British Council, and his interest areas include curriculum development, coaching, and teacher training. A dedicated educator, he aims to strengthen TESOL-Ukraine’s global partnerships and advance English teaching standards.
Ganna Gusieva, TESOL-Ukraine National Coordinator
Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages for Professional Purposes at V.N. Karazin National University, a TESOL-Ukraine member since 2002. With expertise in multimodality, ESP, and digital classroom technologies, she has organized international conferences, workshops, and student events. She has contributed to Erasmus+ projects like ‘Developing Reading Skills With and Through Digital Technologies’ and ‘DigiFLEd,’ focusing on modernizing foreign language education through innovative methodologies.
Liudmyla Sinna, TESOL-Ukraine Media Coordinator
Assistant Professor at the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine.
