Hawaii TESOL Webinars in Solidarity with TESOL Ukraine

Abstract: Access a bank of resources and ready to use teacher-created lessons that include scaffolds or supports to improve language proficiency for English Learners (ELs) or Multilingual Learners (MLLs). Learn how to share your own resources and lessons with other teachers worldwide to leverage shared expertise, save time & collaborate for the betterment of our EL or MLL students!

Bio: Joanne Powell was an English Learner (EL) lead teacher & EL Coordinator of a grade kindergarten through sixth grade EL Program, a Gifted & Talented teacher & a Curriculum Coordinator in the U.S., in the state of Hawaii.  She’s now an EL Resource Teacher for the Leeward District in Hawaii and provides professional development, as well as technical & instructional support for teachers of English Learners at eighteen Gr. K-12 primary & secondary public schools. She has an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership in the Asia-Pacific Region, is TESOL certified in Hawaii & is a new member of Hawaii TESOL.
