Online EMI Basics Course: Empowering Educators in Eastern Ukraine

TESOL-Ukraine is thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Online EMI Basics Course, held from April 1 to May 31, 2024. This course brought together 43 dedicated university teachers from Eastern Ukraine, representing the regions of Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Dnipro, and Kryvyi Rih.
Hosted by the Linguistic Centre of Dnipro University of Technology, the course aimed to enhance the teaching skills and methodologies of English Medium Instruction (EMI) educators. Under the expert guidance of Iryna Zuyenok, the course coordinator and e-moderator, and with the support of our skilled facilitators, participants engaged in a comprehensive curriculum designed to bolster their EMI competencies.
Course Highlights
- Interactive Modules: The course featured interactive modules that covered essential aspects of EMI, including pedagogical strategies, classroom management, and the integration of technology in teaching.
- Collaborative Learning: Participants had the opportunity to collaborate with peers, share experiences, and discuss best practices in EMI, fostering a community of practice among educators in the region.
- Expert Guidance: Iryna Zuyenok and our team of facilitators provided invaluable insights and support throughout the course, ensuring that participants could effectively apply the learned concepts in their teaching contexts.
- Practical Assignments: The course included practical assignments that allowed participants to implement EMI strategies in their classrooms and receive constructive feedback from the e-moderator, facilitators, and peers.
